The tool we deploy in the field depends on the objectives required in the office.  Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) - pictured in the mud pit - is a great tool where depth of impacts is required.  Bedrock mapping, near-surface soil types, differentiating sands from clays, ERT provides a robust and simple method for imaging to depths of 30 m.  Examples of other tools we employ...
